Job Description
The Technical Consultant operates as part of the software implementation team. The role requires analysis of customer technical requirements for highly specialized financial software, documenting specifications and implementing software functionality to meet the requirements.
The Technical Consultant will have strong experience of implementing software solutions, ideally within the Corporate / Treasury space. Operating within a team environment sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing accurate and considered analysis of issues along with appropriate solutions to meet the client’s requirements.
- Configuration of the application to accurately represent the clients business and meet their technical requirements
- Provide creative and practical solutions to facilitate improved client processes and smooth project implementation
- Solution design and build for Customer Specific Development, including Interfaces
- Plan, perform and document testing of new and existing functionality to defined specifications/ requirements.
- Drive client / partner focus to ensure efficient and timely completion of project tasks
- Support pre-sales, scoping and requirement definition programmes
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Extensive Computer skills :
o Unix system administration (Solaris, HP UX, or Linux).
o Windows system administration.
o Administration of relational database management systems (Sybase, MS-SQL Server or Oracle). Oracle is preferred.
o Programming skills in at least one of the following languages C/C++/Java.
o Programming skills of scripting languages (Perl, Python, bash)
o Programming in SQL
o Web server technologies
- Knowledge of the corporate treasury or financial markets environments is desirable, a plus if person has a specialist area such as having worked with other Treasury and Portfolio Management systems.
- A proven track record in project work is appreciated.

- DB knowledge (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL)
- Programming languages (Python, PERL, Java, XML/XSLT, SQL)

- Knowledge of Implementation/Upgrade Processes
- Ability to manage the client expectations on deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to identify and resolve project issues quickly and effectively.
- An enthusiasm for taking responsibility and a passion for knowledge
- A self-motivated and hard working individual who is goal orientated, able to work with minimal supervision but also effectively as part of a team
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
- Must be willing to travel extensively
