Job Description

The Cash Management Analyst will be working within the Wall Street FX/BO team which is part of the London R&D group, reporting to the Interfaces Development Manager.

The Cash Management Analyst is primary responsible for the business aspects of the Global Cash management Utility (GCU) which is currently in use at a tier one European based bank. The GCU product is a browser based, global Nostro management application with multiple cash management centres, processing high volumes (millions of cash flows per day) 24x7, including intra-day messages to and from agents, auto-realignments/sweeping within a multi level account hierarchy. The application also features a sophisticated broken balance and late cash flow cost calculation and claim logging functionality. The Cash Management Analyst will also work on the other Cash Management modules available within the Wall Street core FX/BO product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing and responding to client’s enhancement requirements.
  • Analysing and investigating issues raised and where applicable recreating within a control environment.
  • Liaising with the clients re the resolution of issues and the progress of enhancements.
  • Translation of client’s business requirements into internal specifications applicable to the Wall Street modules, covering both the UI and database.
  • Preparation of effort estimates to build enhancements.
  • Preparation of development project plans.
  • Preparation of system and user documentation, including Release Notes, Implementation instructions and help files.
  • Preparation of test cases together with their execution and documentation of results.
  • Preparing and presenting demonstrations of the application to prospects.
  • Become a champion for the product within the Company.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Candidates must have an in-depth understanding of Nostro management including cash pooling, sweeping, zero balancing, realignments and reconciliation from a Bank’s perspective.
  • The successful candidate will have implemented significant changes to a cash management system within a large financial institution or been involved in the User Acceptance testing of such an application.
  • Their experience will also include working closely with the IT department to specify system changes and/or as part of issue investigation.
  • The candidate should also have a good understanding of the system infrastructure and components, e.g. exposure to or awareness of, messaging concepts and formats, e.g. flat files, xml etc., databases, UI design and back-end server usage, including recoverability and safe storing of data.
  • Good knowledge of inter-bank messaging and payment systems, e.g. SWIFT and SWIFT MT9xx series
