Job Description

The Business Analyst will work within the R&D group, as a member of a software development team, focused on Interest Products, Futures, Credit / Risk, and Accounting applications.

The analyst will have up-to-date expertise of financial markets and a good understanding of day to day activities in the front, middle and back office functions of a bank.

The development team acts a centre of expertise for supporting the core application and delivering improving functionality. The Business Analyst will be working alongside application programmers and other business analysts, supporting a range of colleagues and customers. Excellent communication and analytical skills are needed to translate potentially complex business issues into system requirements.

Practical experience gained from using or supporting Treasury Management systems will be a pre-requisite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and responding to client’s enhancement requirements
  • Analyzing and investigating issues raised, and where applicable recreating within a control environment
  • Liaising with colleagues on the resolution of issues and the progress of enhancements
  • Translation of business requirements into development specifications
  • Preparation of test cases together with their execution, and documentation of results
  • Preparation of effort estimates to build enhancements
  • Preparation of development project plans
  • Preparation of documentation, including Release Notes, Implementation instructions and help files
  • Preparing and presenting demonstrations of the application to prospects
  • Become a champion for the product within the Company
  • Creation of Business Requirements and Functional Specifications for new product features

Required Skills & Experience

  • Practical experience in the financial markets gained with a bank/corporate
  • Practical experience of financial technology gained within a software house or an in-house technology department
  • Good knowledge of financial industry, instruments and market processes
  • Excellent numerical analysis skills and the ability to build simple spreadsheet models
  • Excellent analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Good customer relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Organization planning skills
  • Enthusiasm for taking responsibility and a passion for knowledge
  • A self-motivated and hard working individual who is goal oriented, able to work with minimal supervision but also effectively as part of a team
